About JILIR

The Journal of International Law and International Relations (JILIR) is a student-run journal administered by students from the Faculty of Law and the Munk Centre for International Studies at the University of Toronto. Founded in 2004, the JILIR will appear biannually and will publish research articles, case comments, notes, interviews, and book reviews.

Every few years, a significant portion of at least one issue of the JILIR will be devoted to a symposium on a topic deemed of particular interest by the Editorial Board and by the Senior Advisory Board. For more information about the symposia sponsored by the JILIR, please click here.

Mission Statement

The JILIR aims to promote critical, informed, and interdisciplinary debate on the intersection of international law and international relations. To this end, the JILIR provides a forum for contributions from Canada and abroad on matters of current concern in international affairs in general and on issues of particular interest to Canada.
